Meet Karas & Karas employee Lara Stoller

 

Meeting Lara for the 1st time you would be hard put to place her as a Credit Manager. But this petite single mother has no difficulty dealing with credit issues and making the numerous and often necessary calls to customers, some overdue, some just a little behind and some just needing a call. In fact, she says that she loves connecting with our customers and staying in touch, and her pleasant upbeat attitude seems to work for both her and our customers. read more

In a recent issue of “U.S. Glass” both Dez Fernady, the General Manager of Royalite MFG. In California, and Max Perilstein, vice president of marketing for Arch Aluminum, wrote about trends in our industry.

Dez defined trends in relation to the many changes and innovations that came about during the last century in the manufacturer of glass. He wrote about insulating glass, energy efficient glass, tinted products to name just a few. Max wrote that some trends are friendly and some are not so friendly, or rather positive or not so positive.  read more

In March of 1978 Gerry Slavin came to work at Karas & Karas as an inside salesman. Having grown up in the glass business and endowed with a great personality, he was a natural and an asset. 6 months later Kay Lindberg came to work in our clerical department. Her first experience at the switchboard was when she “filled in during lunch breaks”, but her delightful telephone voice and manner and calm efficiency made her a natural when that position opened up on a full time basis, luckily for us, she was pleased to do so. read more


INSTITUTE of CONTEMPORARY ART

In the fall of 2006 The Institute of Contemporary Art (ICA) will open a new museum overlooking Boston Harbor. This magnificent structure is the first new museum to be built in Boston in almost 100 years. Designed by Diller & Scofidio of New York, the ICA is destined to be one of the most recognized landmarks in the city. read more
